Heyo!

Name's David, and my wife and I are planning on moving to Germany in the near future (within 2 years) from the USA. I'm a German born citizen (though have lived most of my life in America), and we are both currently comfortable with the language at A1 though plan on getting up to B1 (with my wife going to push herself to C1, B2 at minimum). I have family in Germany, and will be getting some support with living there.

Currently going through the checklists for moving and all that, but wanted to see what we need to do and what we can expect from trying to transfers jobs over.

I have a Bachelors of Science in Nursing, and an active Registered Nurse liscense plus 10+ years experience.

My wife has a Bachelors of Arts in Linguistic and a Masters of Arts in Special Education, and has worked as both an educator and administrator for colleges.

Thank you for any advice you are able to give!

ramthundar , To continue with your second question.
There is a demand for healthcare professionals, so with your nursing degree you shouldn't have a problem finding a job. However, you should make sure that your degree is regognized in Germany (https://handbookgermany.de/en/recognition ). You can do this by using the Central Recognition Service: www.arbeitsagentur.de/vor-ort/zav/working-living-in-germany/zsba/profes… Also check out the job search in Germany: https://handbookgermany.de/en/jobsearch-and-application Since you are a German citizen, you don't need a visa to live and work in Germany. However, your wife may need a residence permit depending on her nationality. Here you check her options: https://www.make-it-in-germany.com/en/ Please, let me know if you have any further questions.
